Bosh Battles

Bosh Battles is my main third year project at the Games Academy, Falmouth University. Within our team, Doghouse Games, my role was as version control manager and lead programmer, with a focus on Gameplay and Systems Programming. We have just completed this project with a 1st Class Honours overall.

I am extremely proud of the work I managed to achieve given the circumstances we have faced over the course of this project. Despite being the sole programmer of the team, I was able to produce what the head of our course stated was "the most polished game the university has ever seen".

Most importantly, however, I am proud to have created a game that has brought countless hours of enjoyment to my team and others. We have found ourselves playing for hours outside of work and playtesting never felt directly like work itself. Despite working on the game for the better part of a year, I never lost motivation for the game and was always excited for the moment I could pick up the game again.

With this project I worked closely with every member of my team (primarily with animation, audio and VFX implementation), and have forged connections and created moments I will never forget.

Unfortunately many of our team have already confirmed places within the industry, and due to financial challenges we are not able to continue this project further. Our passion for the project had fuelled our development process, building the game into what could have been a long term project.
